Applying Bulk Updates to Objects

You can save time and errors by updating multiple objects simultaneously using the Data Maintenance wizard in AssetWise ALIM Web. This wizard lets you choose which object to update, and what action to perform on the selected objects.

Note: In order to perform a bulk update to objects, the Data Administration plugin must be installed, and the user account must be granted Data Maintenance permissions, in AssetWise Director.

Bulk Update Actions

The following actions can be performed using the Data Maintenance bulk updating feature:

Action	Details
Approve/un-approve objects	Sets the Approval Status of selected objects. Options are: Approved Not Approved Note: This option applies to Documents and Virtual Item Groups only.
Delete objects	Deletes all selected objects.
Lock objects	Locks all selected tag objects.
Manage attribute security	Manages security settings on attributes for the selected objects.
Manage object security	Adds, removes, or updates assigned security settings to selected objects.
Move files to repository group	Moves all files from the current repository groups to a chosen repository group.
Synchronize class attributes	Either removes attributes with values that are assigned to documents but not to the class, or adds attributes that are assigned to the class but not to the selected documents.
Unlock objects	Removes all locks from the selected objects.
